❌This is SUCH A MYTH!!! ❌
I am so excited to talk about this and free you from this lie, and I’ll explain why👇🏼
Contrary to popular belief, it is not a single macronutrient or a food group that makes you gain weight.
What makes you gain weight is the frequent, excessive consumption of more food than your body needs.
This means that all three macronutrients, including carbs, CAN make you fat… if you consume them in excess.
Ultimately, however, cutting some of your carbs in order to lose weight is your best bet.
This is because protein and fats are essential for the body; while carbs are, you can cut them slowly without affecting you too much.
Essential means that the body needs it but cannot produce it.
Nevertheless, you should consume less but enough carbs to sustain energy levels for various physical and mental activities.
Your body needs at least 130grams of carbs a day to produce serotonin( the happy chemical in the brain). That’s why when people cut carbs too much, they can be agitated and cranky, and emotional.
I give you permission to eat carbs and fuel your body, but keep this in mind:
- 80% whole food 20% soul food ✅
- Stay within your weekly caloric range and energy balance, and you will be fine. ✅

Love love this im learning that the things I’ve heard in the past are myths and I love learning because it just helps me more and more to succeed
I was a huge proponent of keto for a long time and thought of carbs as evil. I didn’t have the energy to sustain my workouts and would end up binging. I feel much better eating a balanced plan and my hormones got better too. 👍🏻
Having been a frequent atkins or keto follower, this concept is probably the hardest for me to grasp and hold on to. But I wasn’t aware of the serotonin part! That’s reason enough to consume some carbs -they’re delish and keep the mood elevated. Thanks!
