Discipline has no room for feelings

DISCIPLINE: Doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it.

Discipline teaches you that feelings don’t have a place in the pursuit of your goals. If you rely on how you feel, you’ll never do what needs to be done to reach your objectives.

You won’t always feel like meal prepping when it’s time. You won’t always feel like working out when it’s time. You won’t feel like turning off Netflix when it’s time to sleep. You won’t feel like getting up when your alarm goes off. You won’t feel like logging your macros before you eat.

That’s why writing down your goals and your WHY is so important. Your goals are the anchor that moves you from hesitation to action, pushing past those fleeting feelings.

How to Build Discipline:

  • Schedule your prep days for food.
  • Schedule your workouts.
  • Go to bed 30-60 minutes earlier.
  • Eat the meals you’ve planned because you took the time to prep or log them into MFP.

By doing this, you’ll create momentum and confidence. Over time, these actions will become habits, but it all starts with discipline.

Today’s Reflection: What is one task you’ve been avoiding because you “don’t feel like it”? Write it down, commit to doing it today, and reflect on how accomplishing it makes you feel.
